The high school transcript should be a 1-page, summary document with the names of all high school coursework, grades earned, and GPA through first semester of 12th grade. The composite transcript should include all coursework completed, whether in-person classes, online classes, dual enrollment, part-time public school enrollment, or self-directed.

Back-Up Documentation Provide back-up documentation for all grades that were awarded by outside entities, such as copies of community college transcripts, report of final grade from an online class, an AP score, etc. If any semester or year of high school was completed in a traditional school, provide the official year-end report card or school transcript as back-up for the terms attended.

Overall high school GPA must be 3. Students at each award level elementary, middle, or high school must meet the requirements in Category A and either 1 or 2 of Category C. If a school does not have letter grades, a student must meet the requirements in Category B and either 1 or 2 of Category C. Grade Point Average: Students are to earn a grade point average of 90 on a point scale, an A on a letter scale or a 3.

When computing grade point averages at the respective award level, only the years at that level are to be included through the fall semester of the exiting grade. Note: Elementary schools are not to include K-3 in their computations. This category enables school personnel to use new assessment and evaluation tools in developing award criteria at their school and apply the criteria fairly to all students.

The primary indicators of excellence must be based on academic achievement. They may also require student essays and outstanding attendance, but these activities must bear some relationship to the academic performance of a student. In addition to A or B , schools are to include one or more of the following criteria to determine their selected students: State Tests and Nationally-Normed Achievement Tests: High achievement in reading or math on state tests or nationally-normed tests.

Germantown Elementary School in Maryland serves a diverse student population of about from pre-K through fifth- grade. Benjamin Stoddert Elementary School in northwest Washington, DC, serves students from the surrounding neighborhoods, a number of out-of-boundary students from throughout the District and Bolling Air Force Base as well as students from over 20 countries, including the embassies of China, France and Russia.

During my visit, I had the chance to celebrate with six soon-to-be-middle school students as they were presented with PEAP certificates. Along with Principal Donald Bryant and others dignitaries, I encouraged these students to be the light in all situations, help others and let their greatness rub off. The program also receives great feedback throughout the year. Department of Education.
