Uninstall zune software completely

Even after running UnZoone admittedly designed for an older version of Zune I couldn't update or uninstall Zune because of a missing installer file the original. This file apparently had been in a folder named with a lot of random numbers and letters. I copied these characters and searched for them in the registry.

There were three keys in there with this folder name, which I deleted the whole key in each case. Problem solved.

This might not work by itself remember I ran UnZoone first , but I have read that removing all registry keys that have "Zune" in them will also permit reinstallation. Really shocked but that Uninstaller program really works, you have to pay, but i thought it was worth it, having a lot of computer troubles in deleting files and its searches your whole database to include regristy, cool stuff.

I then went to uninstall zune and it asked if I was sure I wanted to uninstall it and after clicking yes it uninstalled zune and then a message said that Zune was deleted from my computer. Thank you so much. I noticed that in XP anyway the installation appeared to finish no problem In particular there was legacy devices that you just couldn't delete.

You have to chage the security and take ownership of the registry folder and then you can delete these. Once you have deleted every reference to Zune in the registry and deleted any folders related to zune on your hard drive then it will install just like new.

You might have to set your folder view to show hidden and system files to make sure you get rid of all the folders. If you are reinstalling you might want to leave the zune folders in your music and pictures folder because they will have your playlists and photo stuff. After windows telling me that it "was" uninstalled, countless times, it was still there. This solved it for me; I went into program files and scrolled to the bottom and right clicked zune, then went into the security tab and gave myself "full control" of the file and its contents, which I should have had in the first place, then clicked apply, and deleted the folder.

I clicked yes, went to my desktop and deleted the shortcut and bam I was done with zune. No update is available Zune totally unistall and reinstall. This thread is locked.
